Áherslur
Hér er lögð áhersla á skynfærin og skynjun. Orða-
forðinn er því eye, ear, nose, mouth, smell, touch,
taste, hear. Lykilspurningar og svör við þeim sem
nemendur ættu að fá þjálfun í eru:
What can you smell? I can smell …
What can you touch? I can touch …
What can you see? I can see …
What can you taste? I can taste …
What can you hear? I can hear …
Hér kemur einnig fram einföld beyging lýsingarorða með orðinu
saltiest
og gefur það tækifæri til að taka
fleiri lýsingarorð sem myndast með -er og -est. Dæmi:
The sand on the beach is
soft
but the feathers of a seabird are
softer.
A fish can be
big
but a fishing boat is
bigger
.
Ice cream is
sweet
but this is the
sweetest
ice cream I have ever tasted.
This food is
salty

Hugarkort má nota á marga vegu, s.s. til að auka orðaforða, skoða tengsl o.fl. Nemendur sem ekki
hafa náð tökum á ritun geta teiknað myndir. Tilvalið að láta nemendur gera hugarkort yfir skynfærin
og skynjanir. Dæmi:
