‘Hi, my name is Sharon. We’re in the same class, right?’
she asked.
‘Yes,’ replied Linda.’
‘What’s your name?’ Sharon asked.
‘My name is Linda.’
‘How do you like this school. Have you been here for
long?’ Sharon asked.
‘I just started last year. The school is alright, but I miss my
old school,’ Linda replied.
‘I do too. What’s the deal with the girls here? They seem
weird.’ Sharon commented.
Linda smiled. At last someone agreed with her!
Over the next few days, Linda’s life started to change,
largely thanks to Sharon. Sharon was really popular and
all the girls wanted to hang out with her. She was friendly
with everyone but she chose to sit next to Linda and they
became good friends. This was what Linda had wanted.
She was now in ‘the group’ and all the girls wanted to be
with her too. Linda also became popular, all thanks to
Sharon.
Last Wednesday, Sharon and Linda decided to go to the
mall after school at two-thirty. They wanted to get some
ice cream and just have a look in the stores. Sharon said
that she needed new mascara (she always wore some
make-up, even though she was only twelve).
They went into the pharmacy and stood in front of a
make-up display. Sharon found what she wanted, took it
in her hand and looked around, and then she carefully
shouldn’t I?
