Iceland and
Coffee cups
Some Icelanders know how to read fortunes in a coffee
cup. If you ask someone how it is done you will probably
hear many versions. One method is to drink your coffee
and then turn your cup upside down above your head.
Then you turn the cup in three circles clockwise and
three circles counter-clockwise, always keeping the cup
above your head. Next you wait while your cup dries
completely. When your cup is dry it will have coffee
stains on the inside. The person who reads your cup
reads all these stains and hopefully sees something
interesting appearing in your near future.
