Focus words Understanding 1 Explain the words Read the text: It must be exciting to explore different ideas and create something completely new – perhaps a trendsetting device? To invent something original, a person has to be both curious and creative. When working on a new invention, inventors often sketch their ideas on paper. They also have to describe in words how their invention is put together and how it works. a) The focus words are marked in the text.
