Focus words UNDERSTANDING 1 Work with the focus words Work with a partner. a) Decide which word class the focus words belong to. Write a list, with the indefinite article (a/an) before each of the nouns, and the infinitive marker (to) before each of the verbs. b) Write new sentences with each of the words. If you like, use as many focus words as you can to create a short text of your own. c) Decide whether the verbs are positive or negative actions, or both. Write a short explanation for each of the verbs. Example: to heal: When you heal, it means you get better in some way or another. That is why the verb to heal is a positive action. 2 Draw an emoji Six of the focus words are verbs. Draw an emoji to represent each of the verbs.
