67 2 Explore The islands have some of the world’s most beautiful beaches with soft, white sand and turquoise water. People who travel to the Bahamas often come for the wonderful climate. They enjoy the spectacular beaches and relax in the sun. Some also dive amongst the coral reefs, swim with sharks and explore caves. Others visit the national parks to see the turtles and the exotic birds. If you spend Christmas there, you can experience Junkanoo on December 26. Junkanoo is a street parade that resembles a carnival. The locals wear costumes, play goatskin drums and cowbells and dance through the streets. The Bahamas also has wonderful food which includes lots of seafood, tropical fruits and spices. I really hope I one day will travel to the Bahamas.
