Imagine that you invented one of these things or something else that many people use today. For this task, you can choose anything you like, or even come up with a brand new invention of your own. Write a keyword description of your invention by answering the following questions: What is the name of your invention? What does it look like, and how does it work? What is the purpose of your invention? What problem does the invention solve, or what need does it fill? If you like, you can draw a sketch of your invention and add it to your description. Talking 5 Interview with a young inventor Work with a partner and interview each other about an invention. You want to find out as much as possible about your partner’s invention. You also need to be able to answer your partner’s questions about your own invention. Here are three questions to get you started: What does the invention do? How did your partner come up with this idea? For whom might this invention be helpful? Prepare at least two more questions. If you find it hard to think of a completely new invention, you can use “your” invention from task 4 in the interview.
