Focus words Understanding 1 Find the focus words Read the text: Do you like stories? Would you like to be an author – writing novels or short stories? In a story, you can create your own world and your own characters. You can describe people and places exactly how you want them to be. You can even experiment with different voices by changing who tells the story – the narrator. Is it someone like you or someone completely different? If you are not already a storyteller, this is your chance to become one. a) Write down the focus words you find in this text. b) Use these words to make new sentences. If you like an extra challenge, you can try to write a short text that includes as many focus words as possible.
