Við bætum -ed aftan við grunnform sagnorðsins til að mynda þátíð í ensku. Óreglulegu sagnorðin beygjast á mismunandi hátt og þau þarf að læra hvert og eitt. Regluleg sagnorð: talk – Last week I talked to my grandmother. play – Jenny played football yesterday. walk – I walked to school on Wednesday. Óregluleg sagnorð: I get pocket money each week. (present simple) Peter got a haircut yesterday. (past simple) I go to Bergen every Christmas. (present simple) They went to France last year.
