107 3 Growing up Dear diary, 5 June, 2019 I woke up this morning feeling great. Then I realised that my favourite jeans were in the dryer at my mum’s place! It is SO frustrating having two homes! I talked to Mum about this last week. I told her that I absolutely HATE living in a bag. She says she understands, but how can she? She didn’t grow up with parents who were divorced. Almost all my friends live near my dad’s place. Mum says she can drive me over whenever I want, but who wants to be asking their mum every time they want to hang out with friends? I didn’t ask for this arrangement! There are some good things about all this though. At my dad’s place there’s only me. Since Anna doesn’t have any children, I get all the attention. But then at my mum’s place I have Toby. At first, I was scared that when my mum and Gary had him they would forget all about me. But they didn’t. And Toby is SO cute. I didn’t think I would love having a little brother as much as I do. I love when he comes into my bed in the morning for a cuddle. However, I am still angry about having to wear the wrong jeans today. I am also furious with Mum. She said yes to letting me go to the concert on Saturday with Zoe and then totally changed her mind after talking to Dad. Seriously, what is he so afraid of? It’s a concert! I will have to think of some way to convince them I can go or Zoe will KILL me! Love, Stella Before reading Think about the following: What is a diary? Why do people write diaries? to realise – átta sig á a dryer – þurrkari divorced – skilin an arrangement – fyrirkomulag attention – athygli a cuddle – hér: knús furious – brjálaður
