Elizabeth was very sad when I told her that
I couldn’t be with her for the time being.
I had to go and create another monster,
although I didn’t tell her that. Henry
and I travelled together. I told my
family that I needed to travel for a
while and then I would return and
marry Elizabeth.
Henry and I travelled to England
and stayed in London for some
time. Henry was enthusiastic about
everything; my mind was elsewhere. My
mind was on my work that I had to start
soon, the creation of a female monster. We
travelled to Scotland and stayed in Edinburgh. I
told Henry that I needed to travel alone for some time
and I would meet him in Perth when I was ready.
I travelled to the Orkney Islands. There were very few
people there and I could work in peace. I worked day and
night creating the female. When my work was almost over
I started thinking about what I was doing. I could not
create another monster. What if this monster was even
crueller than the first one? Would she be able to love the
first monster and give him happiness? What if they had
children? Would the world be full of monsters? I couldn’t do
this!
I looked up from my work and outside my window I could
see the monster in the moonlight. He had an evil look.
Filled with rage and powerful energy, I started to destroy
Frankenstein
