My earliest memories I was born London 1940, 23rd September to be precise, at 2 o’clock the morning. It was the middle of an air raid London. I spent the first six months my life the wine cellar my home. This was because the air raids London. the air raids, Londoners did not stay their houses. They stayed air-raid shelters and the underground stations. They slept bunk beds the platforms the stations. There were very few people the streets a raid. The first raid London began 5.00 p.m. Saturday 7th September 1940. The raids London continued 57 consecutive days and nights. Many children were evacuated and lived rural areas the war. My brother and sister lived Brighton, a seaside town the south coast. They didn't want to go away, they wanted to stay home. They were very unhappy Brighton so they were sent back London. My only recollection the war was standing our balcony watching the planes fly London.
