There are many different types of films, often called film genres. We have asked four tweens what they like best. Dylan, Wales I like action films because they are exciting. I like car chases, fights and explosions. I think the special effects are wicked and so are the stunts. I like it when the hero is in danger, fighting the villains but, of course, pulling through in the end. I also like adventure films. They are often similar to action films. The difference is that the hero in adventure films is on a quest, looking for something or someone. Emma, England Drama is one of my favourite types of film. I like to watch films that tell a serious story about people. I find drama films to be quite realistic both when it comes to the characters and the settings. I hate horror films. They are so creepy. I know that they are not real, but they are still too frightening for me. Anyway, most horror films have an age limit. Luckily, I am still too young. Morag, Scotland I like fantasy films about magic and supernatural forces. The setting is often a place outside our world and there are often talking creatures. They are usually combined with an adventure and often it involves the traditional hero's quest. I particularly enjoy watching films which are filmed in Scotland. The beautiful nature here makes it a perfect film location. Liam, Northern Ireland I prefer family movies because they are for everyone in the family: children, parents and grandparents. These films always make me feel good. I love going to the cinema with my granddad.
