Now you can have a go at writing a film review yourself. Film review The purpose of a film review is to give the reader a short summary of the film and to give an opinion of whether it is worth watching or not. Although film reviews are not always structured in exactly the same way, they usually include the following elements: • title • introduction • plot • main characters • setting • theme (s) • the reviewer’s opinion Plan your writing Think of a film you have seen recently that you have an opinion about. Prepare your review by writing notes about the plot, the main characters, the setting and your opinion with reasons. Find at least one photo to include in your review. Note!
