NEXT UP! 2 222 It’s my choice to make! At school, we have already started talking about which line of study to choose when we finish lower secondary school. There are so many possibilities, but I think I know what I want. I want to study agriculture, fishing and forestry. The counties’ information website says that you should “enjoy being outdoors and have an interest in nature and environmental issues. You should also be able to cope with demanding theoretical subjects.” It’s the perfect choice for me! However, my parents think I would be making the wrong choice. According to them, upper secondary school should be about keeping my options open. They think I am too young to understand the consequences of my choices, but they are wrong. First of all, I know that I have to work with something that I am passionate about. Everyone should! Secondly, I know that I don’t want to spend my life in an office. Furthermore, I know that my future job will be mostly spent outdoors working in and for nature.
