The third person singular of verbs ending in "ch", "sh", "x", "s" and "o" ends "es",
e.g. watch - he watches, brush - she brushes, box - she boxes, miss - it misses, go - it goes.

The third person singular of verbs ending in "y" preceded by a consonant ends in "es" and the "y" changes to "i"
e.g. try - tries .

The third person singular of all other verbs ends in "s",
e.g. live - he lives, read - she reads, eat - it eats.

The question and negative form of all verbs in the simple present, with the exception of the verb "be" and "have got" is the same as the verb "have".
