I am working now. I work every day.
I am not working. I do not work.
Are you working? Do you work?

Differences

The present continuous is used The present simple is used
for actions that are happening now:
He is playing tennis now.
for habits or repeated actions:
She watches "Sky News" on TV every morning.
for temporary actions that happening now:
They are staying at a hotel this week.
for permanent states:
He works in a bank.
for actions that are going to happen in the near future. The time is usually mentioned:
He is visiting his mother tomorrow.
for actions that take place according to a schedule:
The plane takes off at 7.00 a.m..
 

for general truths:
The Earth goes round the Sun.
